Richard A. Getchell Jr.

   Richard A. Getchell Jr. 63, of Deansboro, N.Y., passed away peacefully with his loving wife and many special friends at his side. He was born on March 21, 1961, in New Berlin, N.Y., a son of the late Richard and Jacqueline Patterson Getchell. In his earlier years, Richard enjoyed working on his father’s farm alongside his father and brother Shawn. While riding the school bus back in 1977, Richard was introduced to the love of his life, Carrie Sturdevant and on October 4, 1980, the two were united in marriage in a ceremony which took place in Oriskany Falls, N.Y. Prior to his retirement Richard was employed by the Waterville Central School District as a mechanic. Richard could fix anything mechanical, he especially loved tinkering with Chevy trucks and tractors.

   He is survived by his beloved wife, Carrie of Deansboro, a brother, Shawn Getchell; a niece, Dana VanHoven along with many special friends. Richard was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Susan M. Getchell.
