Obituary of Michael J. Callahan

Michael J. Callahan, 76, of Clinton, passed away February 23, 2025 at Wynn Hospital.

He was born October 8, 1948, a son of the late Martin H. and Naomi (Nichols) Callahan.  He was married to Shelley Richardson until her passing December 28, 2021.  Michael retired from Town of Kirkland Highway Department after 38 years of service.  Michael enjoyed fishing and boating, but he loved spending time with his grandson David Michael, most of all.

He is survived by his cherished grandson David Michael; daughter Patricia; brother Stanley Callahan; sister and brother-in-law, Katie and Guy Wright; sisters-in-law Cynthia Callahan and Susan Callahan; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Shelley; his parents; brothers, William, Martin Howard, Patrick Callahan and Charlie Callahan; sisters Lois Smith, Rose Reilly and Joyce Mosher.

Graveside services will be held for the family in the spring at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
