
Obituary of Mabel Jean Kimball
Mabel Jean (Thompson) Kimball, 87, of Westmoreland, NY, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, peacefully with her husband and children by her side.
Mabel was the daughter of Charles Thompson and Marion (Robinson) Thompson, born March 8, 1937, in Rome, NY.
On May 26, 1956, she married the love of her life Charles William Kimball in Calvary Church of Utica, NY. They were set to celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary in May of this year. From this union they were blessed with 6 beautiful children: Douglas Kimball, James (Tammy) Kimball, John Kimball, Kathryn (Randy) Strong, and David (Michelle Moran) Kimball.
She was predeceased by her parents, her son Daniel A. Kimball, her sister Helen (Thompson) Harrington, a brother Dicky Thompson, and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Kimball.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles; her five children, sixteen grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law Richard Harrington, sister-in-law Rita Kimball, and many extended family members.
For many years, Mabel worked as a bookkeeper. She worked for Mid-State Communications in Sherrill, NY and Gaffney Communications in Utica, NY until her retirement.
Mabel was a proud member of the Fort Schuyler American Legion Post #1290 Ladies Auxiliary and served as Treasurer. She was a lifetime member of the New Hartford American Legion Post #1376 Ladies Auxiliary as a Treasurer.
Mabel was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mabel spent her life caring about others and giving of herself freely, ahead of any of her own needs or wants.
All are invited to call Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 1-3pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton. A Celebration of Mabel’s Life will follow at 3pm.
