Obituary of John W. Powles III

John W. Powles III, 78 of Clinton, went home with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Born in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late John Jr and Velma Powles. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter, Morgan Bowers and his brother-in-law, Richard Barber. He was a graduate of Draper High School. John was a phenomenal trumpet player and could play all Al Hirt’s songs with no music. He was a member and employee of Crosspoint Church in Whitesboro, NY. John will be remembered as a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

John is survived by his wife Donna Powles, his children Jay (Karen), Michael (Jean), Christopher, Connie, Jason, Kelly and his stepdaughter, Kelly. His siblings are Judith Potter, Janice (Michael) Galkiewicz, Deborah (Timothy) Leonard, David (Pamela) Powles, Wendy Powles, and Sherri Barber. Also 9 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild and 2 great grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Crosspoint Church, 317 Oriskany Blvd, Whitesboro, NY 13492 starting at 2PM. Refreshments will be served by the church following the service.
