Obituary of Jean Kinne Franz

Jean Kinne Franz, 97, of Kirkland, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 26, 2018.

Jean was born in Syracuse, NY on December 2, 1920, the daughter of the late Olive Newcomb and Ralph Kinne.  Jean graduated from Utica Free Academy class of 1939.  She was employed from 1939 to 1985 by various companies including Moser & Cotins Advertising Agency and the Medical Societies of NY.  On June 30, 1956, she was married to Raymond Franz in the Olivet Presbyterian Church.  Jean and Raymond resided in Whitesboro and then Kirkland since 1980.  Her husband Raymond passed away in 2007.

Surviving are two sons, Paul (Alice) of Marcy and Wayne of Turin, NY, and grandson Jonathan of Marcy. Jean leaves a sister and brother-in-law, Helen (Bob) McConnell of Port Clinton, Ohio, and a sister-in-law, Joan Franz of Frankfort. Jean also leaves many nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

Jean was a member of the Whitesboro Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.  She enjoyed being with family and friends, going on bus trips, walking, reading, knitting and playing cards.

All are invited to call on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 4 PM – 7 PM that will be followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Whitesboro Presbyterian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
