Alfred M. “Fred” Olson, 68, passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 7, 1954, in Argentia, Newfoundland, Canada, a son of the late Gordon and Ruth (Fitzgerald) Olson. Fred was united in marriage to Margaret “Peg” Handley on April 28, 1984. He was a 30-year employee of Oneida Limited. Fred had a passion for old Harley Davidsons, classic cars, and classic rock music. He loved taking his ’68 International Pickup for a ride and entering local car shows. Family camping trips and RVing created lasting memories they will all cherish. He was a member of Cassety Hollow Rod & Gun Club. Fred is survived by his wife, Peg; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Ami and Douglas Campbell of Arlington, MA and Stephenie and Christopher Felski of Baldwinsville, NY; his four brothers, Jamie Hall and Palma, Gordon Olson, Thomas Olson, and Tim Olson; nephews Brendan Hall, Shane and Daymon Olson, Josh Handley, Christopher Hughes, Adam Luban, and Alex Hoyer; nieces Miranda and Rebecca Hall, Rachel Handley, Shannon Hoyer, and Morgan Moracco; all the Handley family; his new four-legged friend Charlie; and his old friends James and Jean Eckhard. He was predeceased by his parents, brother David Olson, father-in-law Robert Handley Sr., and longtime friend Dickie Teesdale. All are invited to call Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton, NY. A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be at 10am Thursday at the funeral home.
