One of my treasured memories of Aunt Dodie was the high school graduation party she, Aunt Maybelle, and Aunt Shirley gave me in the back yard of the house on Hamilton Ave. in Sherrill. Good food and drink, lots of fun, and love and generosity. And the gift: new luggage for packing for college. And then there’s the warm welcome she always had for me when I returned to the area for visits from LI: A cup of tea, and homemade fruit pie, always the best. I miss her so much already.
