Meral was a remarkable woman whose warmth and wisdom touched everyone around her. We met through our sons, and from the start, she was always kind, welcoming, and a joy to be around. I looked forward to our conversations during play dates and at baseball games—she had a way of making every exchange feel meaningful. Her love for her kids and her animals was admirable. Meral offered the most thoughtful advice and often reminded me to embrace life fully and find joy in the present. During my cancer journey, her support was a true gift, and I hope she felt my support in return. I deeply admired Meral’s wit, her outlook on life, and the way she approached motherhood with such thoughtfulness and heart. Though her time with us was far too short, she lived with purpose and found joy in the things she loved. It was a privilege to know her. She is deeply missed. Sending so much love to your family in this difficult time.

We met Meral soon after we got married while attending the same church and developed a connection. We stayed in touch periodically through the years and no matter how many years passed, it was always a delight to hear her cheerful voice. I will never forget when she came to visit us and meet our first born son. Meral was a delight and had a special ring in her voice that remains in my mind even with years in between seeing each other. She worked hard to not let bitterness or resentment or anger take root in her heart and did what she needed to do to remain healthy and to hold love for others. I am deeply saddened at the brevity of her life, though I know she lived it with joy and treasured the things that she enjoyed. Every single conversation with Meral was meaningful. She is missed.

A former student of Mrs. Dahlins, she was one of the best if not the best teacher that Waterville had- She was always positive and dedicated to us no matter what the situation, she always worked so hard for us kids to have a good day and year! I remember always walking into her class and her sitting at the desk if not the door with a smile and her cup in hand saying “Good Morning” to all of us as we walked in… Waterville will not be the same without her! Thank you Mrs. Dahlin
