Betty Jean Clark, 89, passed away September 6, 2017 from injuries sustained in an accident. She was born July 12, 1928 in Clark Mills, a daughter of Clifford and Ona Mae (Sloper) Clark and was a descendant of the Clark Family who settled Clark Mills. She graduated from Clinton Central School in 1946 and received her degree in Christian Education from Nyack College in 1953. Betty Jean retired from Grand Union in May 1990 after 34 years of service as a bookkeeper and checker. Betty was a member of the Grand Union 25 Year Club; past member of the Clark Mills Historical Society, Kirkland Seniors, Hope Alliance Church, and Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, where she served as a Sunday School superintendent and youth worker. She is survived by her sister June D. Clark; Roger Tooke, who was like a brother; many nieces and nephews; her good friend since 7th grade, Evelyn Petrie and friend Mary Evans. She was predeceased by her brothers and sister, Clifford, Donald, Robert, Grant, Esther and Milton Clark. All are invited to a graveside service at 1pm Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Kirkland Cemetery, French Road, Clinton.
