Waldemar "Wally" C. Lemponen, 81, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 26, 2017. He was born in Utica on February 7, 1936, son of the late Walter and Sidwell (Prye) Lemponen. Wally served his country in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Clark Mills American Legion Post #26. He was married to Beverly Davison on January 22, 1958. Wally worked for Ulster Paving and Barrett Paving for many years as a heavy equipment hauler, operator and mechanic. He is survived by his wife Beverly; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Scott Maszczak of Ormond Beach, FL and Wendy and Mark Maida of Sauquoit; seven grandchildren, Megan Elliott and husband Michael, Melanie, Eric, Kyle and Morgan Maszczak, Sara and Nicolas Maida; great-granddaughter Elizabeth Elliott; sister Gwendolyn Jones of FL; a nephew and nieces. In keeping with his wishes there will be no public services. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., Clinton. Please consider donations in his memory to the Clark Mills American Legion Post #26.
