Florence A. Ryan, 97, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2017. She was born November 27, 1919 in Lairdsville, NY, the daughter of the late Wesley and Lottie (Pick) Nelson, and attended Clinton Central School. On December 23, 1938, she was united in marriage to Francis M. Ryan, a blessed union of 78 years. Florence was devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished her time spent with her family. She enjoyed cooking, working in her flower garden and was always working on sewing projects and other home crafts. Before moving from the area, Florence was a very active and longtime member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Clark Mills, NY. She is survived by her husband, Francis; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Betty Ryan of Wellesley Island; her daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and Neil Swingruber of Malta; four grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. All are invited to call Friday, June 2, 2017 from 1-2pm at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, White St., Clark Mills and stay for a Funeral Mass at 2pm. Her burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South St., Westmoreland. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., Clinton. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Clark Mills in Florence's memory.
