Lois D. Scholl, 89, passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2017, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was born in Clark Mills on September 27, 1927, the daughter of Jeremiah and Margaret (Christ) Dwyer. She graduated from Clinton Central High School as salutatorian of the Class of 1945. On June 13, 1953, she was united in marriage to Vincent Paul Scholl of Utica with whom she shared 53 years. She enjoyed traveling especially with her family and also golf trips with other Skenandoa members. Lois worked in the Trust Department of the Oneida National Bank and Trust Company until her marriage. She was very civic minded and was chairman of the cancer drives in Clark Mills for over 20 years. She taught religion at the Church of the Annunciation for 20 years. She worked as Court Clerk for 40 years while her husband was Town Justice, retiring on December 31, 2009. Lois loved sports and was an avid golfer. She and her husband were charter members of the Skenandoa Club of Clinton. She played competitively and enthusiastically until her death. She also loved playing bridge and happily enjoyed that until her death. She is survived by her cherished family: one daughter Hudi Khalsa of Naples, FL, one son Steven P. Scholl of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and one granddaughter Stephanie L. Scholl of Las Vegas, NV. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Rita Joslin of Clinton, NY and a brother-in-law Irving Fisk and wife Caroline of Gainesville, GA, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent, a sister and brother-in-law, Regina and James Stasaitis and a brother Gerald Dwyer, a sister-in-law Agnes (Walter) Hooks and a brother-in-law Joseph (Carol) Scholl. Lois has donated her body to the Anatomical Gift Program. Memorial arrangements will be at the convenience of the family. For those so wishing, donations in Lois's memory may be made to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society.
