Obituary of John C. Ingraham

John C. Ingraham, 73, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 2, 2017. He was born October 8, 1943, a son of Nelson and Blanche (Simons) Ingraham Sr. and graduated from VVS. On May 2, 1970 he was united in marriage to Joyce Steinmann. John retired from Revere Copper Products, but didn't sit idle. He was a school bus driver in Clinton, was recently re-elected as Justice for Town of Marshall and belonged to the NYS and Oneida County Magistrate's Association. John was an active member of the Barton Hose Co. with Deansboro Fire Department as past Fire Commissioner, Past President and Treasurer. He had also been a member of Verona Fire Department, FASNY, Oneida Co. Vol. Firematics Association, a former EMT, farm-medic instructor and Sons of the American Legion. He was a member of the Deansboro Congregational United Church of Christ and a past Master with Alliance Lodge #1097 Oriskany Falls F&AM. John enjoyed bowling and found time to golf as well. He is survived by his wife Joyce; daughter Tina Kitchen of Clinton; four grandchildren Robert, Tara, Steven and Desiree; two sisters Norma and Anthony Debottis of Cary, NC and Grace Welch of Herkimer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Debi Steinmann; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew Chris Steinmann. He was predeceased by his parents, his step-father Harry Welch, his brother Nelson Jr and son-in-law Dale Kitchen. All are invited to call Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 1-4pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11am at Deansboro Congregational United Church of Christ. His burial will be in the spring at Deansboro Cemetery. Masonic services will be held Sunday at 4pm.
