Albert C. Dohn, 87, of Beatty Ave., passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Presbyterian Home. He was born March 2, 1929, the son of the late Albert F. and Ina (McPhee) Dohn. Albert graduated from Clinton Central School in 1947. After high school he served in the US Navy. On September 18, 1954 he was united in marriage to Shirley Sims at St. Mary's Church in Clinton. He was employed at General Electric, Mele Manufacturing and retired in 2004 from ConMed. Albert was an avid golfer and belonged to the Mohawk Valley Industrial League at Golf Club of Newport. He loved the outdoors, gardening, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Shirley; a son and three daughters, Albert H. and Nancy Dohn of Utica, Cheryl and John Matera of Charlotte, NC, Karen and John Grogan of Westmoreland and Diane Dohn and Joe Grabowski of Camillus; four grandchildren, Benjamin Dohn and fiancée Amanda Addington, Courtney and Clay Patterson, Sean and Gabrielle Grogan and Shannon Grogan and Kevin Baxter; and a great-granddaughter Callahan Marie Grogan. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the Presbyterian Residential Community and the Presbyterian Home for the care and kindness extended to Albert and his family. All are invited to call from 10am – 11am prior to the funeral services at 11am on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton.
