Obituary of Janice M. Lenhardt

Janice Moore McSweeney Lenhardt, 78, died Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Masonic Care Community. Janice was born November 16, 1937 a daughter of John F. and Catherine Falvey McSweeney. She went to parochial grammar schools and graduated in 1951 from Sacred Heart. Her family moved to New Hartford in 1951 and she graduated from New Hartford High in 1955. Upon graduation she worked for the NY Telephone Co in the accounting department for nine years. On September 14, 1963 she was united in marriage to Joseph P. Lenhardt Jr. at St. Thomas Church in New Hartford. After their marriage, the couple lived in Clinton and then moved to New Hartford in 1967 where they resided for their remaining years. Janice went to work in 1977 at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital for 24 years until she retired in 2001. Janice was a member of St. Thomas Church where she was a member of the choir for some years. Janice is survived by her three sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph Lenhardt of Whitesboro, Michael Lenhardt of New Hartford and Andrew and Kristen Lenhardt of Niskayuna; a grandson Eric Lenhardt; three sisters-in-law, Sandra K. McSweeney, Lillian McSweeney and Mary A. Lenhardt; many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a special friend Christine Shuff. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Ken McIntosh; brothers John McSweeney and Michael McSweeney; sister-in-law Jeanne Sullivan and her faithful companion Shanuk. She lived - she died - she loved you all. All are invited to call Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 5-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday at the funeral home. Her burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
