Joyce Carroll, beloved mother, sister and friend died peacefully at home on November 29, 2015 with her loyal dog Micki by her side. Joyce was a treasured friend to many and a compassionate supporter of the disadvantaged and our Wounded Warriors, as well as an avid New York Yankees fan. She was born in Gouverneur, NY on December 9, 1941, the daughter of John P. and Helen (VanDuzee) Cryan. She was a graduate of Clinton Central School and Utica School of Commerce. She was employed for many years at the General Postal Facility in Utica, and in recent years at the Barneveld satellite office of Faxton-St. Luke's Hospital. Joyce was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Jerry Carroll. Surviving are her much loved family: daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Don Gerling and grandsons Ben and Nick; son and daughter-in-law Richard and wife Camille who have four of Joyce's grandchildren – Richard, Joshua, Tiffany and Stephanie; her sister and brother-in-law Linda Cryan Lyden and Martin Lyden and nephew John Lyden. A special thank you to Bud and Gretta for their kind assistance and her special friends from work for their love and support through the years. All are invited to call Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 5-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton and stay for the memorial service at 7pm at the funeral home.
